    Erich Spangenberg / Chairman

    Erich Spangenberg, IPNav's founder, has advised patent owners of all sizes on hundreds of enforcement, acquisition and monetization transactions. Prior to founding IPNav, Erich was a partner at Jones Day (corporate), Senior Vice President of Investment Banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, President of Smartalk Teleservices and also of Acclaim Ventures Group. Erich holds a BA from Skidmore College (Periclean Scholar) , MSc from the London School of Economics (Distinguished Graduate) and JD from Case Western Reserve University (Law Review).

    In addition to IP monetization advisory services through IPNav, Erich owns companies that actively engage in enforcement, acquisition and monetization transactions. He brings to IPNav's patent owning clients a wealth of experience in practical patent monetization.

    David Pridham, has more than a decade of experience advising clients in the monetization and the acquisition of intellectual property and in complex patent litigation. David is nationally recognized as a leading patent licensing specialist having negotiated hundreds of intellectual property license agreements that generated hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. In addition, David has been lead strategy counsel on a number of major patent infringement cases that have resulted in hundreds of millions in licensing revenues for his clients and has advised clients on various aspects of intellectual property acquisition.

    Prior to joining IPNav David managed his own law firm where he counseled clients ranging from individual inventors to Fortune 500 Companies in intellectual property related litigation, acquisition and monetization and served as the General Counsel and Secretary for Firepond, Inc. David holds a B.A. from Providence College and J.D. from George Mason University. In addition to his role at IPNav David has served on the Board of Directors for a number of companies.

    Brad Sheafe / Senior Vice President Chief Operating Officer

    Brad Sheafe brings a unique perspective and background to IPNav and the operational aspects of patent monetization strategies. After graduating magna cum laude from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Brad started his professional career with seven years as an officer in the USAF, separating as a captain to take a Special Agent position with the FBI. In the course of his over 11 year FBI career, Brad served as a senior cybercrime specialist with broad-based investigative experience, leading complex investigations both domestically and overseas as well as serving as a senior SWAT team leader.

    Brad joined IPNav in 2008 and has engaged in all aspects of IP management, including portfolio valuation, licensing efforts and litigation strategy, applying his unusual experience and operational expertise to patent monetization. He also continues to lead in the effort to design and develop cutting edge technology to improve IPNav’s ability to identify, classify and leverage patent assets for its clients. Since 2009, Brad has overseen all aspects of patent prosecution for IPNav’s wide variety of clients, ensuring that their prosecution strategy is meshed with the overall monetization strategy and that clients’ investment in prosecution results in high-value assets and not merely trophies.

    Matthew DelGiorno / Executive Vice President

    Matt DelGiorno comes to IPNav with fifteen years of experience in patent enforcement, beginning as an attorney with Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, continuing with a clerkship at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and most recently as director of IP litigation at the largest fabless semiconductor company in the world.

    He graduated at the top of his class for both his Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering. Matt obtained his JD at the University of Virginia School of Law and has front line experience in every aspect of patent law, from acquisition to prosecution and reexamination and complex litigation to licensing. Matt's strong technical background and extensive patent experience are a powerful combination with proven success at maximizing the value of our clients patent portfolios.

    Peter Hardigan / Vice President

    Peter Hardigan has over 7 years of experience in monetizing intellectual property on behalf of corporations, academic institutions, professional investors, and entrepreneurs. Prior to joining IPNav, Peter was a Principal in the Intellectual Property Practice at Charles River Associates (CRA) in New York and Frankfurt, Germany. At CRA, Peter managed engagements relating to the monetization of intellectual property rights, the analysis of commercial damages, and the valuation of IP in business transactions primarily in North America and Europe.

    Prior to joining Charles River Associates, he was employed as a licensing officer at Columbia Technology Ventures (CTV), where he worked while attending Columbia Business School. At CTV, Peter was responsible for evaluation, commercial development, and licensing of early stage life sciences innovations. Prior to CTV, Mr. Hardigan was a strategy consultant at Mainspring and IBM Business Consulting Services (following IBM’s acquisition of Mainspring) where he advised Fortune 500 life sciences, financial services, and consumer goods firms, with a particular focus on portfolio strategy and business development. Peter holds an MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. from the University of Chicago.

    Deirdre Leane / President, IPNav (Europe)

    Deirdre Leane brings over ten years of technical and commercial expertise to IPNav. She is experienced in comprehensive project analysis from concept through delivery, and is skilled in licensing technologies combined with forming and supporting start-up companies, with an emphasis on commercializing government and university developed technologies.

    Graduating at the top of her class, Deirdre holds a first class honors Degree in Applied Physics and Chemistry (PhD) from Trinity College (Dublin) and Dublin Institute of Technology. She also holds a Higher Diploma in Education and has received the AGB Scientific award for excellence.

    Lucia Alvarado / Vice President, IPNav (Europe)

    Lucia Alvarado has over eight years of international experience in business development; managing all marketing activities for a multi-million dollar technology based group in Latin America to most recently working for Nokia Denmark in the Business Development department, analyzing the Patent Transactions Market and ways to better monetize patents. A seasoned traveler, she has garnered much experience from living and working internationally, gleaning information from other cultures, languages, and business practices.

    Lucia has experience in analyzing patents and their potential for development in Europe. She got her Master's in Intellectual Capital Management from the highly renowned Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Lucia was in the top of her class for her Master's as well as her other studies: a BSc in Business and Marketing and Postgraduate studies in Advanced Management. Her unique interdisciplinary training and professional experience allow her to combine legal and technical parameters into business creation and value extraction from IP and other intangibles.
